My name is Carrie Oyama and I am a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist.
I received my certification from Ridgewater College in Willmar, Minnesota.
I truly believe in the art and healing of massage therapy as it was the one thing that helped me. In 1999, I injured my low back and underwent two surgeries - neither of which relieved my low back chronic pain, and then I also developed fibromyalgia. I definitely didn't believe in the whole scenario of doctor hopping and pill taking and went to two chronic pain clinics. I got the philosophy, but things just weren't getting better. One thing lead to another and pretty soon I heard about Reiki healing. This along with massage therapy is what got me on the road to being able to live life again. Granted, not quite to the extent of what it used to be, but I also had to learn that I was a different person who had to acclimate to her new body. I still deal with chronic pain daily, but in my own way and in my own time I learned what worked for me. This is why I love what I do, to pass along information that I found valuable to those who are lost on the pain path.
